Student Ministry Pastor


The Student Ministry Pastor is responsible for the spiritual growth and development of First Colleyville students through our disciple-making pathway. He carries out our mission of leading students to know and follow Jesus through the following 3 roles: 

  1. As a LEADER OF LEADERS, he oversees and grows our leadership pipeline and ensures every volunteer leader is equipped and passionate about our mission.
  2. As a CONNECTOR, he draws students in, working alongside staff to maintain ministry systems to accomplish the following:  
  • Onboard and capture new students in our pathway
  • Ensure all students are connected to an adult leader who knows, cares, and challenges them with the scriptures. 
  • Maintain a visible presence in our community and schools.
  1. As a SHEPHERD, he uses Biblical truth to help foster an enjoyable atmosphere where students want to belong. He builds rapport with students and families to equip them with Biblical truth and be available for pastoral care concerns.


  • Must be living an “above reproach” lifestyle as outlined in the First Colleyville Employee Handbook
  • Must have skills in administration and leadership
  • 2+ years of student ministry experience required
  • Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in related fields from an accredited Bible college or seminary
  • Must have experience in a large church setting
  • Must be a maturing believer who is pursuing sanctification and the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
  • Handles conflict with others in the ministry in accordance with Matthew 18:15-20.
  • Must embrace our church’s doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our philosophy of ministry both in public and in private.
  • Knows and follows the policies in the Student Safety Handbook and holds our fellow leaders accountable.


  • Lead student programs, Connect Groups, events, leadership development, teaching and preaching, outreach, vision and mission.
  • Maintain a strong partnership with parents of our students by encouraging and equipping them to be the primary disciplers of their kids.
  • Initiate new ways to recruit and onboard volunteers into our pipeline.
  • Act as the primary preacher and vet all curricula.
  • Lead and manage student staff.
  • Oversee administrative and structural to help in the pursuit of the First Colleyville Student Ministries’ vision and mission.
  • Lead camps and mission trips.
  • Must go through the Grow Series and multiply his life by making disciples who make disciples.
  • Must enjoy working in a structured environment with K.R.A.s (Key Result Areas), W.I.G.s (Wildly Important Goals) and Quarterly Reviews.


  • Must be a Christ follower 
  • Must be living an “above reproach” lifestyle as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Must be committed to and supportive of the authority of the Lead Pastor and Senior Leadership Team, and the philosophy and direction of the church, both in public and in private 
  • Must work scheduled hours each week as unto the Lord 
  • Must be a faithful steward of work and time, with awareness that First Colleyville employees are paid from the tithes and offerings of others 
  • The ideal candidate has the spiritual gifts of leading with zeal and administration. (Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 12) 
  • Must be flexible and adaptable and exhibit a good attitude when issues or changes arise.
  • Must have the ability to multitask 
  • Must be dependable, humble, and approachable
  • Must be friendly, welcoming, and compassionate
  • Must be able to get along with other ministries within the church 
  • Must be able to receive direction and correction - a joy to supervise
  • Must have a servant attitude
