THOUGHT: When you serve others, care for others, show God’s love to others, you are actually being the hands and feet of Jesus.
BIBLE: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35
TRANSCRIPT: Hey, everybody! Welcome back to Morning Thrive. We’ve been talking all week about how to get close to God again. Maybe you’re feeling distant from God and very separated from Him. How do I get back into a close abiding relationship with God? Well, we’ve said a couple things, and one was to just come clean with God and let Him search your heart. Another thing is to start doing the things you did at first. Here’s another thing: You need to love other people and to begin to show love for other people. You know, in John 13:34-35 Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” You know, Jesus gave them that commandment the night before His death. He had already told them He was leaving and they were questioning where He was going, and they were already feeling the separation. Jesus then told them, “I am giving you a commandment so that you will know that I am close to you. You just love one another, and as you love each other, then my love will flow through you.” Listen, one of the ways you experience God’s love is by sharing God’s love. And as you pour your heart into others, and you become the hands and feet of Jesus, and you start to minister to other people, strangely you begin to sense God’s love, God’s approval, and God’s arms around you. So listen, are you loving other people? When you do - you become a reflection of Christ, and you will see Him even clearer. Alright?
