Student Ministry Summer Internship

POSITION PURPOSE

First Colleyville student ministries exists to help students take their next step with Jesus as well as to equip the next generation of youth workers.  Summer interns will explore a calling in vocational ministry while practicing the core ministry competencies of multiplication, connecting and shepherding.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

  • Must be a Christian with qualified character (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)
  • Must be a maturing believer who is obviously, consistently and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in his/her daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • Must embrace First Colleyville’s doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our philosophy of ministry both in public and private
  • Must have a desire to explore a calling in vocational ministry

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • As a MULTIPLIER, a summer intern will learn how to train and equip adult Connect Group leaders who make disciples
  • As a CONNECTOR, a summer intern will participate in contact work in order to create a relationship with students outside our ministry as well as maintain relationships with our current students.
  • As a SHEPHERD, a summer intern will engage in personal discipleship with students in our ministry to create an environment that encourages spiritual growth
  • As a LEARNER, a summer intern will spend time learning our philosophy of student ministry and learn how to implement it in our context

Start Date: The week of June 1

End Date: The week of August 28

Compensation: $12 an hour
