Kids & Family Minister

The Kids and Family Minister exists to move kids from birth through fifth grade toward spiritual maturity in keeping with First Colleyville’s mission of leading every generation to know and follow Jesus.


  • At least a bachelor’s degree in related fields
  • Experience in childhood education is preferred 
  • Experience in successfully building and leading teams
  • Experience in weekday education is a plus


  • Must be a passionate follower of Jesus Christ and consistent disciple maker 
  • Must be a team player that works within existing structure
  • Skilled in goal setting and leadership
  • Skilled in understanding and relating to people
  • Skilled in personal investment toward spiritual maturity
  • Skilled in ability to lead teams toward excellence
  • Skilled in conflict resolution


  • Develop teams that move kids grades 1-5 into healthy Connect Groups. 
  • Recruit, train and shepherd volunteers to serve in the Kids Ministry in order to foster a team atmosphere of shared passion for children and families. 
  • Oversee the vetting of all volunteers using Ministry Safe.
  • Oversee the evaluating and training of all personnel working in the Kids Ministry. 
  • Oversee ministry budget and calendar related to Kids Ministry.
  • Develop, implement and oversee family mission/outreach experiences
  • Oversee the selection of all Kids Ministry resources to communicate God’s eternal truths to children.
  • Develop and oversee programming for kid’s area as it relates to the church’s stated strategic process of Explore, Connect, Grow and Multiply.
  • Provide oversight of all guest and member follow up related to Kids Ministry.
  • Oversee the making of disciples for kids and training parents to be the lead faith trainers in their homes. 
  • Oversee the development and execution of all goals for the Kids Ministry.
  • Provide supervisory oversight of Preschool Ministry and Pathway Early Education Center.
  • Oversee new initiatives as assigned
