Associate Student Pastor

POSITION PURPOSE
First Colleyville Student Ministries exists to help students take their next step with Jesus as well as to equip the next generation of youth workers.  The Associate Student Pastor is responsible for the spiritual growth and development of 6th-12th grade guys.  Alongside the student Pastor, the Associate Student Pastor will help carry out the goal of targeting and retaining 6th-12th grade guys, as well as growing them toward spiritual maturity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

  • Must be living an “above reproach” lifestyle as outlined in the First Colleyville Employee Handbook
  • Must have skills in administration and leadership
  • 2+ years of student ministry experience required
  • Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in related fields from an accredited Bible college or seminary
  • Must have experience in a large church setting

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • As a LEADER OF LEADERS, the Associate Student Pastor will recruit, train and shepherd a team of adult leaders who are committed to the vision of reaching a small group of students who know and follow Jesus.  The Associate Student Pastor will make sure every 6th-12th grade guy has an adult leader who is shepherding them.
  • As a CONNECTOR, the Associate Student Pastor will draw students in, working alongside staff to maintain ministry systems to accomplish the following:
  • Onboard and capture new students.
  • Ensure all male students are connected to a leader who knows, cares and challenges them with the scriptures.
  • Maintain a visible presence in our schools.
  • As a SHEPHERD, the Associate Student Pastor will use Biblical truth to help foster an enjoyable atmosphere where students want to belong.  The Associate Student Pastor will build rapport with students and families to equip them with Biblical truth and be available for pastoral care concerns.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist and lead in middle school and high school programs, Connect Groups, events, leadership development, teaching and preaching, outreach, vision and mission.  This includes, but is not limited to, executing weekly MSM and HSM programs, overseeing Connect Group structure, leaders and curriculum, communicating and building relationships with parents and other duties as assigned by the Student Pastor.
  • Initiate new ways to recruit and onboard volunteers.
  • Help in the creation of new series and curriculum for middle school and high school ministries.
  • Lead the Student Ministries Team with oversight of the Student Pastor.
  • Oversee administrative and structural development to help in the pursuit of the Student Ministry vision and mission.
